HOW TO GET HERE

From Inverness:  We are a 2 hour beautiful drive from Inverness.  Drive north over the Kessock Bridge and follow the A835 north to Ullapool. Continue through Ullapool, follow the road to the right and north out of the village. Go north approximately 12 miles where you will see a turn off on the left for Achiltibuie. Take this single track road until you reach the coast (you will see a big beach at Achnahaird), then turn left at the Raa junction towards Achiltibuie and Polbain. At the next main junction (NOT down to Badentarbet Lodge – carry on to where the large glass recycling containers are sited on your LHS) turn right down towards Badentarbet beach and as you rise up over the hill you will find Polbain and Gables Cottage. The Gables cottage is first on your left as you enter Polbain –  directly opposite Coigach Craft Shop –  down towards the sea.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is included in the cottage?
Towels, bedding and electricity are included in your booking. Your cottage also has dishwasher tablets, washing powder, washing up liquid, tea towels, dish cloths, liquid soap, and a hairdryer – a few less things to bring!
Is there WiFi and mobile signal?
Wi-fi is provided free of charge. Mobile ‘phone reception is very patchy around the peninsula, and there is virtually no reception at the cottage.
Is there a grocery delivery service locally?
Achiltibuie Stores will deliver groceries to the cottage for your arrival if you wish – please contact Theresa on 01854 622 496 or achiltibuiestores@gmail.com to place your order.
When can I check-in?
4pm, although we are likely to be ready for you before this. If you think you will be arriving earlier, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate this. Your cottage will be open for your arrival and we will endeavour to call down to see you to make sure you have everything you need.
What time do I need to check-out?
10am, thank you. On departure please leave the keys in the door. We are a small family business, and try very hard to make the cottage attractive and relaxing. Please make sure your cottage is left clean and tidy, thank you!
Can I bring my pet(s)?
Your pets are very welcome, but we do ask that they not be allowed in bedrooms, on beds, or on the furniture. If any evidence of pets are found in the bedrooms, guests will be asked to pay for the cost of new sets of bed linen as this is only fair to our other guests. Please also see our pictorial pet policy, thank you.
